Meet Ella

Hi, I’m Ella.

I’m an art therapist, coach and counsellor, and I’ve spent more than 20 years working in the mental health space, both in private practice and with mental health organisations.

Over the years, I’ve seen just how powerful creativity can be. Art can help us slow down, reconnect with ourselves, try something new and experience a little more joy.

Paint & Play grew from that belief, along with my love of colour, creativity and bringing people together.

I don’t believe making art has to be serious, perfect or polished to be meaningful. Sometimes the best part is simply picking up a brush, having a go and seeing what happens.

That’s what Paint & Play is all about.

What happens at a Paint & Play workshop?

Paint & Play workshops are relaxed, welcoming and designed for everyone, whether you paint all the time or haven’t picked up a brush since school.

Rather than everyone working on their own individual piece, we create one large collaborative artwork together. Everyone adds their own colours, ideas and creative touches, and the finished piece becomes something none of us could have made alone.

There’s no pressure to get it right and no artistic experience is needed.

Just come as you are, have a chat, enjoy the music and let yourself play.

More than just painting

For me, Paint & Play is as much about connection as it is about creativity.

It’s a chance to slow down, meet new people, share a few laughs and enjoy making something with your hands.

All the materials are supplied, so all you need to bring is yourself and something you don’t mind getting a little paint on.
